In practice, that combination is rare in this category. The 450°F ceiling is the main trade-off, since it limits hard searing. Even so, for low-and-slow cooking for a dozen guests, this grill does the job.

Inside the barrel, the PID V3.0 controller manages pellet feed and airflow on its own, which means you set a temperature between 180°F and 450°F and walk away.
