With 1,083 Amazon ratings and a 3.9 star average, it is the lowest rated printer in this ranking. Even so, nothing else here prints four colors for less money. It suits hobbyists, students and makers who want multi-color printing without paying a premium.

For example, one-click auto leveling removes manual bed shimming, so a new owner can go from unboxing to a first print without a feeler gauge. Meanwhile, the dual-channel cooling fan and vibration compensation keep corners crisp at high speed, which matters because 600mm/s is far quicker than older bed-slinger designs. The 300C direct drive extruder handles tougher filament than the usual 240C to 260C hot ends. On top of that, four nozzle sizes (0.25mm, 0.4mm, 0.6mm and 0.8mm) let you trade detail for speed, and the 0.4mm nozzle comes installed. Automatic filament feeding and retraction simplify color swaps, while the Flash Maker app lets you monitor jobs remotely. If power cuts out, resume printing restarts the job.

By contrast, the Bambu Lab A1 and the 16-color AMS systems ranked above it offer more colors and stronger buyer satisfaction. That said, none of them match the $349 price, which makes the AD5X the cheapest way into CoreXY speed and multi-color printing at the same time. The trade-offs are honest ones: a 3.9 star average from 1,083 ratings signals more mixed experiences, and the 220x220x220mm volume gets tight for helmets, large vases and full-size cosplay armor.
